Stavros studied law at the University of Athens and undertook postgraduate studies in Public International Law at the University of Athens, the London School of Economics and Political Science, and the European University Institute.

Stavros has been awarded the Academy of Athens Scholarship for post-graduate studies on Public International Law and is currently a scholar of the Greek State Scholarships Foundation. He has recently published in the Yearbook of International Environmental Law and is a qualified lawyer with the Athens Bar Association. He speaks Greek, English, German and Italian.
